How to Get All Paints

8 base colors · 18 paint balloon colors

Paint is a material in Pokemon Pokopia that lets you change the color of furniture, items, and houses. To use paint, you need to befriend Smeargle - the only Pokemon with the Paint specialty. Once you have Smeargle, you can throw paint balloons at objects to recolor them.

Step 1: Befriend Smeargle

Smeargle is the key to the entire paint system. Without it, paint materials are useless.

Step 2: Collect Base Paints

There are 8 base paint colors that you can find as materials throughout the world. Smeargle will sometimes produce these when using its Paint specialty, and you can also find them in shiny spots and as drops from various activities.

Tips

  • Most furniture can be painted - chairs, tables, fences, walls, and decorations all accept paint.
  • Houses can be painted too - change the exterior color of your houses for a custom look.
  • Paint is permanent - once painted, the new color stays. You can repaint over it with a different color.
  • Smeargle produces paint passively - leave Smeargle roaming and it will occasionally generate paint materials on its own.
  • Check the Crafting page for all paint balloon recipes.
